Happy Holidays and Happy Eclipse Season. I will call this eclipse season “seek and you will find”. Allow your efforts to reach out in various directions but maintain clear goals. Astrologically this is a very important week of mounting tensions pushing toward their ends as we approach a total eclipse of the Moon on Tuesday December 21, 2010. The eclipse point occurs at 29° Gemini 20’ at 3:31 AM EST and will be visible in northern Europe, North and South America then across the Pacific Ocean to Japan and northeastern Asia. The beginning of the eclipse occurs at 12:27 AM EST and ends at 6:01 AM EST. The total duration lasts 37 minutes. It will be the most exciting to view from 1:32 AM EST through 5:01 AM EST. The solstice occurs later on the same day at 6:39 PM. As found in Lunar Shadows III, this eclipse belongs to a 19-year Metonic cycle group which began on Jun 21, 1982 and produced the first lunar eclipse on December 21, 1991. There are five solar eclipses at zero Cancer – 29° Gemini ending in 2058. The lunar eclipses occur midway between the solar eclipses which is 9.5 years after a solar eclipse. This very potent eclipse family group had showed its second appearance on June 21, 2001 which preceded the attacks on 9/11 and thus began the wars in Here we are at the threshold at a very fitting end of the war in As for the astrology of this total eclipse, nearly every planet plus the three major asteroids and Chiron are activated in the chart. The zodiacal point of 29° is minutes away from zero degrees of Cancer. This is called the world axis, drawing our attention to major global events. Even in our own little world the events surrounding this powerful eclipse possess life changing properties. The point at zero Cancer produces family changes. Those that have been separated from their family can find one another with this influence. Events will be major on all levels; family, relationships, business, government. Look back nine months ago for events that set the stage to change your life. There is a pivot in your direction at this time. There is a Moon Family attached to this lunar eclipse that began with a new Moon on June 21, 2009. This is when things were seeded to move into this powerful period. A First Quarter Moon occurred on Mar 23, 2010 which was the next major step in this potent Moon Family. Expect to reap the rewards for your efforts at the Last Quarter phase of this Moon family on September 20, 2011. If you have a story within a week of these dates you may notice things moving very quickly. You have entered an active phase of your growth and can find what and who you need to move forward. Good Luck! A solar eclipse occurs on January 4, 2011 at 13° Capricorn 38’. Order your copy of Lunar Shadows III during holiday discount | ||||||||
